Health Care Transformation Hub Announces Formation of External Advisory Board

Distinguished leaders in health policy, clinical care and innovation come together to advance patient-centered care

March 18, 2026 – The Health Care Transformation Hub today announced the formation of an external advisory board, comprised of a group of nationally recognized health care leaders who will provide strategic guidance as the organization works to advance research and promote dialogue on patient-centered care delivery models.

The Hub’s advisory board members bring deep expertise across health policy, clinical practice, medical education and health system leadership. The inaugural advisory board members include:

  • Heyward Donigan, CEO, Health Network One
  • Mark Fendrick, M.D., Professor of Internal Medicine in the School of Medicine and Professor of Health Management and Policy in the School of Public Health, University of Michigan; Co-Editor in Chief, American Journal of Managed Care
  • Liz Fowler, J.D., PhD, Distinguished Scholar, Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health; Former Director, CMS Innovation Center at Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services
  • Brian Miller, M.D., Practicing Hospitalist and Associate Professor of Medicine at Johns Hopkins University; Commissioner, MedPAC; Visiting Fellow, Hoover Institution; Former Medical Officer, Office of New Drugs at the Center for Drug Evaluation and Research, U.S. Food and Drug Administration

The Hub launched in December 2025 to serve as a clearinghouse for scientific data and peer-reviewed research around patient-centered care delivery and to convene thought leaders whose perspectives help shape health care in the United States. In the short time since its launch, the Hub has already held events with elected officials, health policy experts and leaders of health care organizations focused on systemwide reorientation toward care models that deliver better patient outcomes at a lower cost.

"Transforming health care begins with realigning incentives and collaborating with people who believe the system can work better," said Wyatt Decker, M.D., MBA, Executive Director of the Health Care Transformation Hub. "This advisory board brings together a group of leaders who have shaped health care policy at the highest levels and lived the challenges of implementation on the front lines. Their guidance will be invaluable as we work to bridge the gap between aspiration and action in transforming how care is delivered and paid for in America."

“Advancing patient-centered, value-based care will require collaboration across the entire health care ecosystem,” Fowler said. “I’m pleased to join colleagues on the Health Care Transformation Hub advisory board to help advance research, dialogue and practical solutions that move the system in that direction.”

In addition to providing ongoing counsel, the advisory board will shape the Hub’s strategic priorities, steer its research agenda and inform its efforts to convene thought leaders for discussions on the real-world challenges facing health care delivery organizations.
